Small Fortunes and Sharing Art
A Small Fortune
$3 may not seem like a lot to most adults, but to a seven year-old, it’s a small fortune. I don’t take it for granted that a child parted with her coins for a piece of my artwork. I don’t take it for granted that her mama shared her own talents with me today to make my Open House a musical joy. I don’t take it for granted that my mother shared her gifts to make the day cozy and sweet. I don’t take it for granted that my friends showed up and support me in this pursuit of creating beauty. When I create art, my hope is that it is something that brings you joy, causes you to pause and reflect on the beauty of the world we live in, nudges you in the direction of Something otherwise Indescribable. Thank you for sharing your time and parting with your coins, trusting me and bringing my work into your lives.
